Lelo Gigi

Lelo clearly had some top notch female designers involved in the creation of this slim, gorgeous, seductive g-spot and clitoral creation. Its’ unique finish creates a soft and luxurious feeling that makes you want to never put it down. It is almost too cute for words. I know, I know….”cute”? I am a woman and cuteness plays into our consumption of pleasure toys!

Here is my list of adjectives to describe Gigi: dainty, classic, light, quiet, easy to clean (head is made from a matte-finished higher grade medical silicone while the handle is made from hard plastic), rechargeable (kudos to Lelo for being environmentally friendly!), looks cool and modern, exquisite packaging that epitomises class (for little forays they even provide a satin travel bag!), feels lovely (silicone feels like velvet), 1 control button (eliminates the need to fumble around in the dark when your mind is on…er…other things!), really does take female bodies and anatomy into account, resulting in a elegant, versatile (for both internal and external stimulation) and discreet vibe!

Gigi has 5 vibrating patterns as well as multiple speeds (made possible by increasing or decreasing the intensity of each type of vibration). Using the dial interface, the vibe patterns are awesome (and quite user-friendly, especially for your partner): three pulsing patterns, a surging pattern (my favourite!) and a steady buzz. It has a flight lock feature (hold center button for 5 seconds) to avoid turning on your Gigi accidentally, but don’t forget to hold it down for five seconds to reawaken the Gigi when it’s playtime! To aid in this regard Gigi even gives you a blinking red warning when your power is just about to run out. Told you it is cute…

I think it goes to show that when you design a sophisticated looking toy, you can significantly improve the amount of time (and times) that you and your partner spend using it together...

Lelo Tor

Lelo’s Bo has got a new brother – yeah! But hold on, would it be fair to say this little brother has been blessed with not only better looks (ok, not radical, but the colour purple is SO the colour of an orgasm!), but with awesome settings and a sort of “sixth sense”, when Bo has been one of my absolute, absolute favourites in our bag of tricks?!

Tor, as the new generation Bo, remains the ultimate luxury toy for boys! The beauty of a Tor is the increased “ease of use” feature where the settings are manipulated through a “+” and “–“ button, each positioned on either side of the bullet. So this time round, when you really need it to stop vibrating, all you have to do is remember is on which side of the bullet the “-“ is! So no more trying to disengage the bullet from the ring...very, very handy!

As the bullet is very powerful and with all the aforementioned settings, Tor doubles up as an amazing hands-free clitoral vibe, especially when in certain positions or when you’ve forgotten to charge your other toys!

We-Vibe

Welcome to torture of the nicest kind! The We-Vibe II (second generation) must rate as the one of the most innovative and orgasmic “new age toys” and as the best couples toy ever (bar the fact that it could really do with a remote control, as the settings are NOT easy to manipulate once “fitted”, hence my torture reference, but more about that later).

As a predominately “external orgasm chick” myself, I was hugely intrigued by the claim that the We-Vibe II is “the first and only internal vibrator designed to be worn during intercourse”. So after much anticipation (and falling way short of the recommended 24-hour initial charge before use – bugger those who say ”good things come to those who wait”!), my husband and I got our best quality water-based lube out our bag of tricks and that is where the fun started….Do try to have your hands lube-free before gently a) locating and b) pressing the dimple to select your vibration speed. Maybe I should recommend that you do turn it on before putting it in place?!

Do not be thwarted if it feels a little odd at first. Remember, you’ll get used to the pressure being applied in specific areas. To aid in this regard, maybe try solo play before introducing it as a couples’ toy. As it has a very snug fit, clitoral stimulation is maximized. With penetration, the We-Vibe II provides delightful g-spot stimulation and felt awesome for my partner (“you feel SO alive”!).

Different positions proved interesting as far as actual penetration and sensation is concerned, but keep in mind that which positions and tricks feel the best, will depend on your body and preferences. So the verdict is that enjoyment is 100% mutual!

In a nutshell, the We-Vibe II is a versatile, completely “hands-free” and is a “almost not there” couples’ toy; fits like a glove and stays in place (soft, flexible and comfortable), splash proof/water resistant, quiet and rechargeable (unlike other rechargeable vibes, this one can never be over-charged) winner! As you never have to pause or stop to adjust etc, it really is a non-intrusive, almost “not-there” plaything.

The Delight

This toy is so much more than I expected it to be. First of all, never judge a book by it's cover, this is a prime example of that, I first saw a photo of it, I thought it was terrible, I imagined it being huge and couldn't quite figure it out. This is definitely one of those toys that you really need to see and feel to fully appreciate it. The minute I saw it and turned it on, I had to have it.

The insertable portion of the toy is small and flexible and the ergonomic design of it really does reach both your g-spot and your clitoral erogenous zones at the same time! The insertable end of the toy is also flexible, so it can be rocked into place and you can manipulate how much g-spot contact and intensity you want. The first time I used it it took a little getting used to, it was a little intimidating and I was afraid to really manipulate the toy to fit it exactly where I needed it, I would say this is definitely a toy you may need to try a couple of times before you get into the swing of things, but it's well worth the experimentation.

Then you have the settings, there are 7 escalating vibration settings and 3 pulsating settings, I highly recommend the first pulsating setting, it certainly will get you going, and once you're aroused you can amp it up to the next setting, if you have never had a toy that has settings, this will be a fantastic treat for you.

Then there's the aesthetics, the Delight comes with a convenient magnetic click and charge charger, and is two lovely shades of pink.

Oh, did I mention, it's rechargeable! Which means it is practically silent and the intensity of the vibration is far better than your average battery toy! And the charge lasts and lasts! You will not need to charge this toy after every use as it's charge lasts for hours!

The silicone parts of the toy are silky and exactly what you would expect from the high quality Fun Factory range. I use mine with The Bedroom Intimate Glide, and it works a charm.

Waterproof Bullet

As someone who has a few toys at home, I have to be honest and admit this is one of the ones that comes out most often!

This bullet, although reasonably priced, is not short on power or function! It has 7 settings to explore, ranging from 3 speeds of vibration to some pulsating and escalating settings. These are so effective clitorally, you'll find yourself needing to tear the romote out of your, or your partner's hands, to take a breather!

The Bedroom Intimate Glide

Basically they are preservatives used in many of our cosmetic & personal care products which have long been considered safe for consumption and application. It’s non-staining, safe for use with silicone toys and latex condoms and has a shelf life of 1 year after opening and available in 50ml or 125ml.

The only warning - it’s not recommended for couples wishing to conceive as it has not been tested for it's spermicidal qualities.

Lelo Liv

I’ll start my “Liv is just too lovely” review by apologising, as Liv has definitely proved to be “the Cinderella” within the Lelo range; meaning her attributes have been unrecognised and overlooked for too long and in my estimation, she has unexpectedly certainly achieve my recognition! Sorry about the period of obscurity and neglect….

Maybe my initial perception had to do with her innocuous look….elegant, mid-sized and minimalistic, as per the rest of Lelo’s amazing rechargeable range, but seemingly lacking an element of wow. Well, why did I never notice her beautifully tailored phallic contours?! Liv has the perfect shape to encourage clitoral stimulation and g-spot massage and is so easy to operate.

Liv boasts a 11cm insertable length shaft and is 4.5cm in circumference (perfect size, as less is definitely more!!) with the stem constructed from medical grade silicone and the handle from ABS plastic. Better Than Chocolate

WOW! Can there be something better than chocolate? Absolutely YES. Nomi Tang's Better Than Chocolate has to be one of my favourite new toys.

Lets start with the aesthetics first, I have to say it is simply one of the best looking toys out there, it is packaged beautifully, made of top quality materials, comes with a rather glamorous looking white suede toy bag for storage and fits perfectly in your hand. Tick, tick and tick in the aesthetics department!

Having said that, Better Than Chocolate is not just a "pretty face", it definitely has the "brains" to back it up! Run on batteries, this simple to use designer vibe has all the combinations of settings (escalating and pulsating) that really work well for me clitorally. The shape was perfect, hugging my body as I would have expected. The controls are quite easy to figure out, an on button gets it going, and then there's a program button to cycle through the programs and a slide control which when you gently run your finger up and down it, increases or decreases the intensity or speed of the program you are in. Super simple! My only criticism is that in the throws of passion I kept accidentally changing the program - but they have catered for this with a lock button which locks Better Than Chocolate in the program and intensity it is in, so I guess I just have to learn to lock it - note to self.

For a battery toy, it's surprisingly quiet, which I enjoy and for me the winning factor is it's completely waterproof! Submersible up to 1 metre in fact. Being partial to bathtime fun, this was right up my alley! Something you do need to note is when Better Than Chocolate is submerged, it automatically enters lock mode and you can't change settings until it is dried off, so do ensure you have it on the setting you want before submerging.

Ditch the fattening real chocolate and spoil yourself with this designer vibrator that is definitely Better Than Chocolate!

G3 Tango

There are times in our lives when the material things really get us excited. Whether it is the look of something that attracts us, or the feel....

Tango by Fun factory did just that for me when it first appeared in our shop. A couple of hours after its arrival I got told I get to try it as my homework for The Boutique. Woop Woop.

So I gave it to my always willing and adventurous husband and said "You drive Babe!" And he duly did.

The Tango is a "rabbit" as it offers dual stimulation - Clitoral and Vagina. It has some rather awesome settings. I preferred the lower vibration as I am very sensitive. It has five different vibrate and pulsate modes. For the ladies out there requiring slightly stronger vibration this toy will definitely do the trick.

I love the look of this toy, is it the colour (India Red)? Could be, but what sold it for me was the feel. It is super soft and flexible - loving that! It takes 3 AAA batteries and the control interface is not rocket science.

The Bedroom Aromatherapy Massage Oils

As a massage therapist - a passionate one at that - I have been very lucky not only to be involved in the development of, but also to be one of the first to try the new Aromatherapy Massage Oils that The Bedroom has created.

The Bedroom, always known for attention to detail, consulted with an aromatherapist and after a number of "smell this", "feel that" meetings, we finally settled on 3 flavours or scents for our Massage Oils. These being: Devour - Pure Vanilla, Arouse - Ylang Ylang & Sandalwood and Seduce - Rose & Sandalwood.

The oils have amazing slip (in other words, they are silky and long lasting) and a little goes a long way as only about a teaspoon is required for it to go on and on.

The essential aromatherapy aroma's of the Ylang Ylang, Vanilla and Rose are feel good scents, but not overpowering, remember that vanilla is one of the scents that turn men on and Ylang Ylang and rose are known aphrodisiacs, so do consider this when choosing your scent. If all else fails, do as I did and buy all three and simply alternate.

As stunning as the scents are, these oils are not just a pretty face! They deliver when it comes to quality and feel of the oil as well. To keep them natural, we have added no additives or preservatives, and therefore they are only available in a 50ml size to ensure you can use it all within the allotted shelf life. You can expect to get somewhere between 10 and 20 massages out of 1 bottle, depending on how generous you are, the areas being massaged, etc.

One of the added pleasures of these oils is that they have been bottled cleverly in pipetted bottles. Not only is the art of drizzling massage oil a sensual experience in itself, but for the more practically minded, it makes for a no mess, no fuss application.

Shanice

What a lovely little toy this is! I have quite a lot to say about this toy, but let's start at the beginning... being a woman, my decisions are often swayed by the packaging (yes, I am that shallow) and I have to say this toy doesn't disappoint there, it's packaged beautifully, sadly, it does not come with a toy bag, but at it's affordable price, I didn't expect the bells and whistles too. A word of warning, inside the box the manufacturer also put a cleaning flease (which can be used to clean the toy) which was useful, and a sample of lubricant. The only problem is they included a lubricant that cannot be used with the toy and worse, they don't state this! Be aware that sometimes manufacturers package samples with products that aren't safe for use with them!

Okay, so once you have Shanice out of the box, it's very simple to add the 2 AAA Batteries she needs in order to work, the white battery compartment twists open easily, and the polarity is clearly marked for the batteries, so if you simply follow the instructions, you'll have no problem.

I have to say I am very impressed with the feel of the silicone of this toy, and the rest in the same range, it is velvety but smooth, in my opinion even nicer than the Fun Factory range feel (but this is personal preference of course). The only downside is that you can feel a ridge along the length of the toy (I'm guessing from the mould?) but this is a total non-issue and I am simply nit picking. The colour is of course delightful. So all my senses where being pleased so far.

I ran myself a bath and threw Shanice in to try her out (Oh, Shanice is waterproof - BONUS!), by the time I climbed in, Shanice was completely warm to the touch and stayed that way, which I also enjoyed (there's nothing more off-putting than a cold toy!).

Let's touch a little on the interesting shape of this toy - I must admit, when I first looked at this toy I thought they'd made a mistake putting the pink button on the inside of the toy, presuming it would lie flush against my body and make changing settings difficult - I was mistaken! When inserted, the outside of the toy - with the battery compartment and switch is slightly longer than the inserted section and therefor sits a little proud of your pubic area, allowing for very easy changing of the settings so I stand corrected on that front. The natural action is for your thumb to press this button, it was simple, and comfortable to operate.

Shanice is designed to be a rabbit, in other words to give dual stimulation internally and externally. The size is simply perfect - with the insertable portion being about 8cm or so, with a realistic shape and not too much girth. In other words, it's simply comfortable. The u-shaped toy then hugs your body and there's a pad of nodules which rests again the clitoral area.

I mentioned the smoothness of the silicone earlier, but it is worth mentioning again for those who like to use their toys in the bath, sometimes these velvety toys don't lend themselves too well to bathtime play simply because the lack of lubrication in water, teamed with the lack of smoothness of the toy lead to difficult, if not impossible insertion. I did not have this problem with Shanice, which was refreshing.

The settings offer everyone something - with 12 modes - whether you like escalation or pulsation or simply vibration - there is something for you. To turn the toy on, you simply press the button once. To cycle through the 12 modes, you simply keep pressing the button once per mode. And finally, to turn Shanice off, you press and hold the button until she shuts down. Simple! Shanice is a typical battery toy, in other words, not completely silent, but as battery toys go, not too loud either, and when used under covers, or underwater (in my case), Shanice is silent.

I would recommend Shanice as a first time toy - her size is simply delightful and far from intimidating. I would recommend her to experienced toy experts as her interesting ergonomics and settings won't disappoint. In short, I would recommend Shanice. An affordable, feature rich toy, she's definitely worth a try!

Lelo Siri

Recently divorced, and entrenched in this wonderful business, The Bedroom, I’ve been on a (silent) mission to rediscover my clitoris (acutely aware that up to 90% of women climax clitorally), and the Lelo Siri seemed to always catch my eye. It’s understatedly simple in appearance. Neat, small, clean lines, no bells and whistles… pure elegance. It honestly seemed too simple to create the desired level of satisfaction. And I’m someone who hates to be disappointed!

So I decided to give it a whirl. Now let me correct that statement. The Lelo Siri doesn’t “whirr.” It is infact almost alarmingly silent. A big plus! Especially seeing as I was feeling a little out of my depth, not having used a toy of this nature before, and having my son sleeping soundly in the next room. We all know that being able to climax is largely attributed to being relaxed and comfortable at the time, and a loud buzzing noise would have been very distracting.

Oh and did I mention the buttons light up when on? So no fumbling in the dark. Those clever Swedes who designed it have just thought of everything, they have!

As I’m no handyman and fumbling around with batteries (or remembering to buy them!) is just not something I think I’ll ever get the hang of, the Lelo Siri has definitely been designed for women like me. And then I’m also jarringly impatient. So the charging of the Siri seems to cater for both my “character defects.” It takes a mere two hours to fully charge the first time and the charger provided in the box looks just like a cellphone charger. Plug into wall. Plug into toy. Easy as pie! And you can use it on the day of purchase! STUNNING!

Now down to the juicy bits… As with all toys, good water-based lubricant (like The Bedroom Intimate Glide) is recommended. Lelo Siri’s lay-on clitoral stimulator starts off with a gentle constant vibration and the ergonomic design ensures that it hits all the right bits, while being extremely comfortable to hold. No need to fumble around for buttons. The plus and minus signs increase or decrease intensity, and the up and down arrows take you through the (ahem, AMAZING!) settings, so once you’ve found an intensity level that’s right for you, you merely press the arrows and get transported to pleasure-ville, perhaps adjusting intensity higher as you go. Spring

Spring (or Mr. Spring to me) is my second toy ever. My first being a very uneducated purchase from one of those “adult” stores we really should just walk straight past. And yes, it was jelly. Not good! So this silicone smooth toy was an absolute pleasure (pun intended) to get to know. I was a bit overzealous with toy number one. So it was uncomfortably too big. Mr. Spring is a perfect size. Not too big, not too small. And of course the jelly toy permeated a horrible smell of plastic. Kiwi

How did Kiwi and I become acquainted?

There I stood in our new, beautiful and inviting Playthings Room admiring all the vibes and playthings on display. It was time to make a choice and select one of the items for my first product review.

Sylk lubricant was the obvious choice to compliment the Kiwi, as it is a completely natural, greaseless and colourless lube extracted from kiwi plants. The Bedroom Wicked Chocolate Sauce & Brush Set

One has to hear the story of the origns in order to appreciate the quality of our Wicked Chocolate Sauce - a few years ago for our end of year function, the whole The Bedroom Team went off to a dinner with a difference - a private dinner party for us by a chef - where we were taught a few recipes and got to fiddle with our food (since we like fiddling this party was a hit!)! What was undoubtedly the biggest hit of the evening was the chocolate sauce that was put on the table to pour over our desserts! OMG is all anyone can say. Then and there we asked the chef to supply us with this glorious potion to sell in store with a brush for a new twist on her lovely invention. It took about 2 years of persuasion after that evening before she finally took us seriously, and so our Wicked Chocolate Sauce was born!

We all know the good old cliché, “Men and Chocolate are always better rich.” I’d like to edit that. “Men and Chocolate are always better… COMBINED.”

And when you add a paintbrush, and the flavours of fudge and caramel, you’re in for a feast of fun!

As a trained chef myself and avid enjoyer of all things yummy, I am VERY FUSSY when it comes to chocolate. Looking back on my past, I wish I’d been just as particular with the men I’ve dabbled in! Some side-notes:-

In order to preserve the fresh chocolatey goodness, you will want to put the jar in the fridge after opening. The viscosity is maintained, so The Bedroom’s Wicked Chocolate sauce is fantastic for multiple misdemeanours (unlike some other inferior products I’ve used). You will find the the sugar crystallizes on the side of the jar, however, the main product remains intact. The crystallization is just a testament of the quality ingredients used in the sauce!

When taking it out of the fridge for round two, or seven, remember to let it warm-up to room temperature, or you’ll be creating shivers on your partners bits!

The Bedroom’s Wicked Chocolate Sauce is a wonderful gift for a newly-wed or best friend. It’s also not going to intimidate or put off even the most conservative of male partners.

Lelo Ina

I was initially attracted to Ina by her vibrant colour and the quality feel of the silicone of the Lelo range. And I was not disappointed by her when I got her home and unwrapped the gorgeous box.

Lelo Ina was the first rabbit vibrator to come out in the Lelo range so a lot was expected. Its appearance is both appealing in shape and size and the glorious purple really appealed to me, and the sense of touch of the velvety silicone sent shivers up and down my spine, with 8 breathtaking settings!

The control pad illuminates, thank goodness, so there was no need to fumble around in the dark and this helped when my mind was getting busy sending me to a place of ecstasy, thanks to the very powerful vibration, and a range of different pulsating modes! I particularly enjoyed the fantastic dual action g-spot and clitoral stimulation at the same time.

The only "disadvantage" to Ina for me was the stiffness and closeness of the clitoral "arm" made the feelings so intense (sometimes you want only one or the other and not both stimulators at the same time), but then I just toned the vibrations down and sped them up when I was approaching the height of it all. "Problem" solved! Of course, women who love strong clitoral stimulation will find this a perk rather than a disadvantage.

  Syncing the plaything and the remote are dead simple as well - simply turn the remote control part on, then press the little button on the U-shaped part of the plaything and you will feel it start vibrating at the same frequency as the remote - and as you change settings on the remote, both plaything and remote respond with the same settings - so whoever is controlling the remote can feel exactly what you are feeling at that time.

  I have to admit this plaything fascinated me, its history (based on the Hitachi Magic Wand), its strong vibration modes and its gorgeously soft, pure white, top-grade silicone G-Spot attachment partner – which must be the “closest feel to natural” of any product I have ever touched . So that was it! I had to try it! And man oh man – I am in love with this powerful all over body massager – this tool with its flexible head and superb settings finds all the good spots without much effort!
